Hailing from Providence, Rhode Island, Justin Samson's work intertwines references from Native American iconography, science fiction magazines, progressive rock album art, 80's kids TV and thrift store junk into eye-popping bricolages of repetition and form. Highly charged with colour and with a dazzyling attention to detail, his work collides twee hippie junk with the sort of fantastical imagery of early boyhood, weaving the found through the made into absurd semi-mystical proportions. |
