Beautifully squewed folk art from Los Angeles based artist Clare E. Rojas, for her recent show at Modern Art in London she was not content to just hang up a few pictures, but cocooned the space with hundreds of interlocking painted pieces forming walls of mock eastern-european fairy-tale drama. There was also a TV there. That was filled by mocking the overblown posturing of fashion magazine half-wit models by doodling all over them in a knowing pre-school fashion, turning them into gibbering mutant oddities. |
