Abandoned but not forgotten

I can look at abandoned places all afternoon. I wish websites could age like this.

Imagine if you forgot about your website and after a few years bored kids would come around and airbrush some profanities on your contacts page or vandalise your portfolio. Maybe my next website should have every element as movable and savable, and all text fields as input fields (this could be done in flash with simple drag and drop functions on all movie clips and a php/xml script which would save new X and Y cordinates for all instances). You could switch between user view, and my view. And If I get bored with my site, I'd just move all the elements around and hit the save button. But If didnt care anymore I'd just leave it and let it get taken over by the vandals.

I tried that in 2000 or so with a website called "art-hell". Then a year later I found people doing it on a much bigger level, but I can't remember the name. Also check out the google cache for this idea.

http://drawhere.com/

this what your looking for. Use the Draw Here bookmarklet to draw on top of web pages while you are browsing the web. If you save your drawings, other Draw Here users will then be able to see your drawings when they go to the same page.
