An overproduction of objects results in an overproduction of sound. Each individual noise adds to a global soundscape which affects our health and quality of life. In bringing a product into the world, it is the designer’s responsibility to manage the sound that comes with the product.

Lise Lefebvre's Thesis explores the potential of sound as a criterion for design and the subsequent effects it could have on the look, feel, texture and overall experience of an object.
The outcome is a range of handfelted domestic appliances, audibly, but also visually silenced.

Yup. Felting sure is crafty. What is it about knitting that just makes me sigh and turn away.
