It is not just the eyes that see colour. Some people see colour when they hear music. This phenomenon, when a sense is stimulated another sense experiences a sensation, is called Synethesia.

Cretien van Campen wrote a book about Synesthesia in Art and Science

There is an awesome book about some research done by a man whose father was a surgeon and mother was an artist, and he is a psychologist. I could have got those details wrong, but check out the book.

I saw red, but this was merely down to annoyance because the sound does not sync with the video and I just get glitchy music.
